After taking
the overnight train from Switzerland to Austria we arrived in
Vienna. We were able to check-in at the Pension bright and early,
and to our surprise they checked us into a spacious Vienna
apartment. Day one in Vienna - Our first day in Vienna was spent wandering the streets, once again we tried to check out the local art museum but found out they were closed, I think my boyfriend secretly and effectively planned this. That afternoon I volunteered to wait in line for standing room only tickets to the opera "Electrika", we were able to |
purchase tickets for approximately $2.75 in American dollars! By far our cheapest night in Europe. We all enjoyed the opera, even though we didn't obtain a program 'til after the show, and it was then that were able to figure out what was actually taking place. Day two in Vienna - Bill and I visited the KunstHausWien while Dan opted to hang out at a cafe to smoke cigars. KunstHausWien is a museum that was designed by architect/artist Hunderwasser located in the third district of Vienna. With uneven wavey floors, vibrant colored pillars, and black-and-white checkerboard patterns throughout we discovered a very intriguing museum that will always be one of my faves.
